( 4UMF NEWS ) Non-Profit Boss Fired For Racist Michelle Obama Comments: The non-profit director who called First Lady Michelle Obama an “ape in heels” in a Facebook post has been fired for good, state officials said Tuesday. Pamela Taylor, former executive director of the Clay County Development Corporation, was terminated after state officials and the organization’s board of directors came to an agreement, according to a statement released by West Virginia Gov. Early Tomblin's office. Robert Roswall, commissioner of the state's Bureau of Senior Services, told the Daily News that the Appalachian Area Agency on Aging will oversee the CCDC for six months. It will also be responsible for the hiring and firing of staff members. “We were not happy with her suspension,” Roswall told The News, adding that the CCDC did not follow anti-discrimination guidelines, which raised concerns. Taylor was suspended from her job following the racist Facebook comment and was slated to return to work on Dec. 23. "It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified first lady back in the White House. I'm tired of seeing an ape in heels," Taylor wrote in the post. Her comment was not given as the reason for her firing — but “it triggered a lot of things,” including outrage, Roswall said. He said the decision would be an opportunity for the CCDC to undergo major changes regarding leadership. Beverly Whaling, former Clay mayor, resigned after supporting the post. Source
