Comedian and actress Wanda Sykes can make millions laugh but can she be your personal scent matchmaker? P&G is hoping so because she is now the official spokesperson for Gain and the face of their brand new interactive campaign.
72 percent of Americans express themselves through their scent and Gain has found a way to tap into personalizing detergent scents.
Sykes stars in the new Gain interactive commercial where she is the virtual matchmaker (“Like cupid for your nose!”) helping customers narrow down their own personal fragrance using criteria based on personal preferences of shoes, music and favorite past times to choose from Gain’s extensive scents including Original, Lavender, Floral Fusion, Island Fresh, Ocean Escape, Apple Mango Tango, Hawaiian Aloha, Butterfly Kiss, Dazzle & Shine, Icy Fresh Fizz, Sunflower & Sunshine, Dreamy Desire, Flirty Fresh, Sweet Sizzle, Apple Berry Twist, Lemon Zest and Honeyberry Hula.
“We wanted to think of a novel way to give consumers an engaging experience with the Brand and a great personality like Wanda and leverage the social media awareness people have,” Hamilton Brown, North American Manager for Gain. “We know its not common in terms of creating interactive experiences in a YouTube format so we thought out loud and figured out how to do it. Gain is all about unique personalities and things that are beyond ordinary with consumers.”
The interactive video, which can be seen on Gain’s YouTube channel and below, allows users to choose between English and Spanish languages. Gain has also created the Spanish language version of the YouTube videos featuring ‘Dr. Aroma,’ (who) takes people through a series of questions in Spanish in order to help pinpoint their perfect scent match from Gain’s anything but ordinary line up of scents.
