Three Men Shot To Death In New York

( 4UMF NEWS ) Three Men Shot To Death In New York:

Three men in their 20s were fatally shot Sunday in separate incidents in the Bronx and Queens.

A 29-year-old Bronx man was shot in the chest and buttocks near his home on Morrison Ave. in Soundview about 2:30 a.m.

Edwin Fontanez was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he later died.

He was shot on a courtyard sidewalk, leaving a large pool of blood.

“It’s happening more and more around here,” said a witness to the aftermath of the shooting, who declined to give her name. “This is too much.”

A 26-year-old Queens man was shot multiple times in the chest on Sutphin Blvd. in South Jamaica about 3:45 a.m. Theodore Thomas, who police say had 11 prior arrests, was taken to Jamaica Hospital but could not be saved.

A 23-year-old Queens man was shot in the head in a doorway of the Astoria Houses on Astoria Blvd., where he lived, about 1:05 p.m.

Tysheen Davis died at the scene. Neighbors said he was the father of a 1-year-old boy.

Police arrested Lacorey Johnson, 19, in connection with the shooting and charged him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

He lived in the same building as the victim.

Family members watched Sunday afternoon as cops prepared to remove the man’s body from the building. They were too distraught to speak to a reporter.

“He was a cool, laid-back kid,” said a neighbor who declined to give his name. “He kept to himself.”
