( 4UMF NEWS ) Tainted Tattoo Ink Causes Skin Infections:
Bad batches of tattoo ink have been linked to at least 22 skin infections in the past year, the Associated Press reports.
The biggest outbreak: 19 cases linked to a Rochester, N.Y., tanning parlor. Ink at the shop was found to be contaminated with bacteria that can cause painful, blistering rashes.
Fun fact: One in five U.S. adults now have at least one tattoo, surveys find. But the Food and Drug Administration urges consumers to “think before you ink.”
