( 4UMF NEWS ) T.O. Cut By Seahawks:

After being cut by Seattle Sunday, Terrell Owens didn’t wait for the Seahawks to announce it, he took to Twitter and let his 1.275 million followers know he had been waived. Owens was the certainly the biggest name to get cut by Seattle Sunday, but he wasn’t the most surprising. That award goes to guard Deuce Lutui.

Notable cuts: G Deuce Lutui (seventh year, Southern California) — When coach Pete Carroll announced on Aug. 10 that starting guard John Moffitt would be undergoing surgery on his left elbow, Lutui looked like a shoe-in to make the final roster. However, seventh round draft pick J.R. Sweezy has changed all of that. Sweezy, who was drafted as a defensive end, was moved to guard before training camp and has so throughly impressed the coaching staff that Lutui became expendable. WR Terrell Owens (16th year, third round in 1996 draft, Tennessee-Chattanooga) — The Owens cut is only notable because its Owens. T.O. struggled in his two preseason appearances and was outplayed by veteran receiver Braylon Edwards in training camp. Owens cut is also notable because it could be his final go-around in an NFL training camp.
