( 4UMF NEWS ) Strip Club Sued For Racial Discrimination:
Racial discrimination claims against the owners of a Richmond strip club will move forward, a federal judge said Tuesday.
J. Alexander Jones worked for Paper Moon as a DJ. He is now suing because he says he was discriminated against for being Black. The NAACP is lending its support, as well.
A federal judge said Jones’ complaint was sufficient enough to move forward on the racial discrimination portion of the case against Imaginary Images, who owns Paper Moon. However, the judge said he will dismiss two alleged criminal violations, as well as claims the company violated the Equal Pay Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The judge is taking the case under advisement and will write an opinion detailing what stays and what goes.
Attorneys for Imaginary Images denied the allegations.
Jones said he felt the judge was fair and is pleased with the ruling, so far.
