( 4UMF NEWS ) Stoudemire To See Hand Specialist:
New York Knicks Forward Amar’e Stoudemire will go see a hand specialist according to Frank Isola of the Daily News. Stoudemire punched a fire extinguisher case after the loss in game 2 last night to the Miami Heat. Stoudemire is seeing the specialist to see if there is any ligament damage or torn tendons in his hand.
Stoudemire is more than likely out for game 3 on Thursday and could be out for the remainder of the playoffs. Stoudemire needed 15 stitches to close the cut on his hand and there was a great deal of blood on the scene.
It is not known what caused Stoudemire to punch the glass case, perhaps the frustration of being down in the series got to him. There has been rampant speculation on why he was so frustrated but there has been no confirmation from Stoudemire or the team on why he punched the case.
The New York Knicks are now down 2-0 in the series and game 3 is obviously a must win game. The Knicks will probably move Carmelo Anthony back to the four spot where he dominated from when Stoudemire was out with his back injury. Coach Woodson will probably start J.R. Smith in the two spot to guard Dwayne Wade. The Knicks are certainly undermanned with the injuries piling up and now down 2-0 to the Miami Heat the postseason is looking like another bust for the Knicks.
