Felix Baumgartner landed safely on Earth after he made a death-defying leap from the edge of space in what may be the world’s first supersonic skydive Sunday.

The Austrian skydiver jumped from 24 miles above the New Mexico desert into a virtual vacuum with air pressure so low that a slight tear in his high-tech spacesuit could have instantly killed him.
