( 4UMF NEWS ) Sex, Drugs And Alcohol At Teen Party:
Sex, drugs and bubbles made for a crazy night in Ohio. Cops busted up an epic 16th birthday party at a golf course in Solon last Friday after finding underage teens drinking, doing drugs and getting it on while foam flew all over the place.
Officials estimated about 750 people attended the party, but they were only able to collar a few amidst all of the commotion.
Ten teens were arrested for charges ranging from underage alcohol consumption to drug possession. Five of the teens in custody were juveniles who were to be released to their parents, reported the Sun News. The rest of the revelers ran for their lives as word of the fuzz arriving quickly spread.
“Our officers responded, they found juveniles everywhere, a lot of juveniles in cars, they saw evidence of alcohol, marijuana usage, just a lot of kids doing things they shouldn’t be doing,” Solon Police Lt. Bruce Felton told TV station WJW.
Police found open bottles of beer, wine, liquor and small amounts of marijuana, Sun News reported.
The estimated number of partiers at the Grantwood Golf Course pavillion was based on profits at the door from a $10 entry fee charged by the party’s organizer, reported Sun News. A 16-year-old boy and his mother were behind the raucous event, according to the station. They rented the pavilion legally.
“What he did is he went on Facebook and Twitter and was actually charging money for this party and actually threw what was called a foam party, so there was a lot of other extra-curricular activities going on,” Don Holub, Solon’s director of recreation, told the station.
A foam party, as defined by Wikipedia, is an event where people get together in bathing suits while machines blanket the dance floor in bubbles.
Police also found two underage teens making out in the back of an SUV in the parking lot, reported the station.
“There are drug abuse charges for the marijuana, there are at least one or two who are charged with underage consumption or underage possession of alcohol … a couple of curfew violations,” Lt. Felton told the station.
The stepfather of one of the partying teens found out about the young man’s night out when the 18-year-old was charged with misdemeanor drug possession.
“I would have never thought that something like this was going on at the parties,” the unnamed parent told the Sun News. He added “kids will be kids, but that’s not an excuse for them to do that.”
Authorities said no one was hurt while grinding on the foamy dance floor or during the stampede to freedom as the bash came to an unceremonious end.
Holub told the station that there will always by a Solon police officer on staff to handle security at future events.
A number of teens stayed behind to clean up the pavilion. The 16-year-old boy and his mother were not among them, they have yet to be found by police, reported the station.
The adults charged with crimes in connection with the party are due to appear in court August 8.
Solon Police were not available for further comment.
