( 4UMF NEWS ) Newborn Abandoned In Housing Complex:
Police are looking for the person who abandoned a young baby, just days old, outside a housing complex in Queens.
An eyewitness heard the baby crying outside the building in Woodside just before midnight Sunday.
Police say the infant was wrapped in towels and sheets and appears to be healthy.
Neighbors are disturbed by the discovery.
“You don’t do that to a child, that is wrong,” neighbor Audra Andrews said. “You couldn’t knock on somebody’s door or take the baby to a hospital? Or something? This was your only recourse? I hope they find them.”
The baby was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
