( 4UMF NEWS ) Mother Strangles 2-Year-Old:
A Queens woman has been charged with murder for strangling her 2-year-old son when he wouldn’t stop crying, police said.
Afriyie Gaspard, 29, called 911 on Friday and initially told responding officers her son had been taking a nap and appeared to be fine, but had stopped breathing when she later checked him.
Little Izayah Hall was rushed from the apartment on Jewel Ave., Forest Hills, to New York Hospital Queens, but could not be saved, police said.
The city medical examiner ruled the death a homicide Sunday.
Gaspard was busted Monday and charged with murder after confessing to the horrible crime.
She told cops she put her hands on the boy after he wouldn’t stop crying.
The five other children in Gaspard’s apartment were taken into custody by the city’s Administration for Children’s Services.
Gaspard was busted on Oct. 26, 2007, for endangering the welfare of a child. Her young daughter was found alone, wandering the street near 71st Ave. and Kissena Blvd. Two of her other children were found home alone at that time and placed in ACS custody.
