( 4UMF NEWS ) Man Shoots 13-Year-Old Sister And Mother:
A 13-year-old girl was shot in the head and killed in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Her mother was also shot multiple times and rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical condition, said NYPD officials.
The alleged gunman is the woman’s son. The 28-year-old was shot by police as he ran from the scene, said police.
The shootings happened early Tuesday morning at the Polo Grounds Houses on West 155th Street and 8th Avenue.
EMS responded to a 911 call at about 3:27 a.m. The woman provided police with a description of her son. He was spotted by police near the Polo Grounds Houses when they exchanged gunfire with the alleged shooter.
The man was shot in the legs and the torso and taken to Harlem Hospital in serious condition, added police. A .22 calilber revolver was recovered at the scene.
The NYPD says no police officers were shot in the exchange of gunfire. Police marked the locations of dozens of shell casings at the scene.
