( 4UMF NEWS ) Johnny Depp Plans To Retire Soon:
Johnny Depp is one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors. But, nearly three decades into the business, he has found himself at a crossroads which may lead him to say goodbye to the industry that made him famous. In a new interview, Depp is opening up about his desire to enjoy the “quieter” things in life.
Since making it big following his debut in 1984′s A Nightmare On Elm Street, Depp has starred in more hits than most actors even dream of. Among them are Edward Scissorhands, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Chocolat, Blow, and the Pirates Of The Caribbean series. In the last few decades, Depp has played all types of characters and has had much success in doing so which is clear, judging by his numerous award nominations and wins. In 2003 Depp won the SAG Award Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and in 2008, he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Since 1991, Depp has received an impressive ten Golden Globe nominations as well as three Academy Award nominations and two for the SAGs.
Last month, Depp spoke to Rolling Stone, also expressing interest in leaving the game. ”I can’t say that I’d want to be doing this for another 10 years,” Depp admitted, adding that he thinks about his retirement “every day.”
Although leaving acting is often on his mind, Depp does have a few reservations when it comes to an official goodbye. Among those upcoming opportunities are two flicks in 2014, Transcendence and Into the Woods, and 2015′s fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
