The party’s over at the “Jersey Shore.”
MTV announced Thursday that the upcoming sixth season will be the final go-around for the most viewed series in the network’s history.
Before the final season begins on Oct. 4, Snooki and the gang will get a proper sendoff with a one-hour special, “Gym, Tan, Look Back,” airing Sept. 6 at 6 p.m., before the MTV Video Music Awards. It’ll feature interviews with tan-loving crew, recap memorable moments, and show clips of the coming season.
Previous “Shore” episodes will also play throughout the day Sept. 6, starting at 11 a.m. and featuring the show’s most iconic moments.
“Jersey Shore” stirred up controversy before it even premiered in December of 2009, as some of the cast members identified themselves as “guidos” and “guidettes.”
