You’ve spent hundreds of dollars and either queued for hours or gone to the trouble of pre-ordering one online. So when you finally get your hands on a coveted iPhone 5 the last thing you’d do is nuke it in a microwave, right?
But that is exactly what one man lucky enough to get hold of Apple’s latest gadget decided to do. Introducing his five-minute YouTube video, the attention-seeker warns people not to try cooking their phones at home.
Irritating safety warning aside, he proceeds to put the brand new device into a well-worn microwave and turn it on. Almost immediately the phone starts crackling and approximately 40 seconds in, the phone sets on fire with a single flame. Moments later, it bursts into a ball of flames.
After being fried for three minutes, the phone is blasted with water before being removed from the oven with a spatula.

Incredibly although it is seriously blackened the phone is still intact. As a further publicity stunt, the YouTube user has put the destroyed device on eBay….for $3,001.
