Geraldo Rivera blamed Trayvon Martin’s “hoodie” , and Trayvon’s parents for allowing him to wear a hooded sweat shirt and blamed the sweat shirt for Trayvon’s death. Geraldo Rivera’s refusal to take back the controversial remarks made his son feel ashamed of his father for the first time in his life.
Geraldo Rivera was heart broken over his son’s admission , and tried , to no avail , to clarify his remarks with : “every hoodie should come with a warning like cigarettes, ‘caution wearing this could get you killed’” , after his son explained to him , that he had gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
