America’s sweetheart Gabby Douglas shines in a Notte by Marchesa black-and-gold frock with a head full of flowing locks and one of her two gold medals for the glossy’s annual “Women Of The Year” issue of ESSENCE magazine.

In the cover story “Gabby Takes Flight,” the 16-year-old opens up about her life after making Olympic history. While she has already befriended the First Lady, scored a beauty campaign and landed a guest spot on “The Vampire Diaries,” we’re sure the pint-sized star will be bombarded with other fabulous opportunities. (Gabby also snagged a spot on Glamour‘s “Women Of The Year” list.) Even so, she doesn’t seem jaded by her success.

“In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!” Gabby told ESSENCE.
