( 4UMF NEWS ) Four-Year-Old Twins Drown:
Texas police are investigating the deaths of two twin boys who drowned in their grandmother‘s backyard swimming pool Tuesday night.
Luke and Mark Nguyen, both 4, were discovered floating in the pool by their father at around 10:30 p.m. They were alive but unconscious when police arrived at the Arlington home. Rescuers rushed the boys to the Medical Center of Arlington, where they were pronounced dead.
The boy’s mother, Huong Nguyen, told WFAA television that her husband and the twins were checking in on their grandmother because she had diabetes. They were at the house for about 10 minutes before the boys slipped into the backyard unnoticed. The boys’ father found them floating in the pool moments later.
The sobbing Nguyen called the boys her “blessings” and said their father was too distraught to talk, WFAA reported.
The couple also has a 1-year-old baby.
Police said the drowning was accidental and don’t believe the father or grandmother were negligent. Autopsies are scheduled for later this week.
