Fergie Denies Joining X-Factor

( 4UMF NEWS ) Fergie Denies Joining X-Factor:

Fergie gave a “boom boom pow” to rumors the she was close to joining “The X Factor.”

The Black Eyed Peas vocalist said the timing was off after rumors circulated that the pop-star had been tapped as a judge for Simon Cowell‘s TV music competition, Access Hollywood reported.

The “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer confirmed she had been in talks to join the judging panel for the past two seasons, but ultimately she’d rather lay low at home with husband-actor Josh Duhamel during her break from the Black Eyed Peas touring and recording schedule.

“It’s kind of funny why this keeps coming up about ‘The X Factor,’” Fergie said. “I mean, I love Simon and I love the show. It’s just that last year, nor this year, do I have the time to commit to that sort of commitment because I would be somebody who would really throw myself into it, as I do with all my projects.”

The 36-year-old was just one of the many potential celebrity judges mentioned for the new season after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were fired from the show in January.

The timing might not be prefect for Fergie, but it could be right for Britney Spears. Spears was offered a $10 million to be a join Cowell and L.A. Reid on the judging panel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pink, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and the late Whitney Houston had also been mentioned as possible replacements.

“I think whatever they do … Simon’s a genius and he’ll make the right decision,” Fergie told MTV News on Thursday. “And it will all work out.”
