( 4UMF NEWS ) Ed Koch Hospitalized:
Former mayor Ed Koch was hospitalized Tuesday and is being treated for anemia, a spokesman said.
The 87-year-old “had been feeling very weak for the past few weeks,” said his longtime aide George Arzt.
Koch returned to the city from a visit with friends in North Carolina and has been admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital.
“He did have a transfusion,” said Arzt. “He hopes to go home (Wednesday).”
Koch underwent a quadruple bypass surgery three years ago at the same medical facility.
