Dancing With The Stars: Dance By Dance Recap Week Two
( 4UMF NEWS ) Dancing With The Stars: Dance By Dance Recap Week Two:
Roshon and Chelsie’s dance this week was the quick step and all the judges loved it. Len said it was wild at some points but he thoroughly enjoyed it. Bruno said it was traditional but definitely had swagger. Carrie Ann says the swagger he had last week worried her if he can pull off the dance this week but said that he turned that swagger into sophistication and technique.
Sherri Shepherd (Comedian/Actress/TV Personality) & Val Chmerkovskiy
Sherri and Val’s dance this week was the Jive and the judges went crazy for it. Bruno says she knows how to work what she has and that Tina (Turner) would be proud and that he LOVED it. Carrie Ann says she is in love with Sherri, that the routine was phenomenal and had great energy. Len says that Sherri, him and the audience felt good, that the performance really worked and he loved watching her.
Melissa and Maksim’s dance this week was the quick step (which Melissa said was more difficult than child birth, what!?). Carrie Ann says that they slipped but she liked the performance better after the recovery, wants Melissa to be careful with her stiffness in her shoulders. Len says that the posture and movement was good but when she started to lose the energy, the posture and movement weakened. Bruno says she did very well with a difficult dance and that overall it was a good performance, however he noted that the more you think about the dance, the more stiff you get. He wants her to not think about it and just enjoy it.
Jack Wagner (Actor) & Anna Trebunskaya
Jack and Anna’s dance this week was to the Jive in which Len liked the attitude and energy but says they lost a little bit of control. Bruno says he gave it all he has but says the control has to be spot on for the Jive but overall the performance was great. Carrie Ann thinks they over danced it to the point where they weren’t synced and just needs to watch that for next time.
Gladys Knight (Singer/Song-Writer/Humanitarian/Author) & Tristan MacManus
Gladys and Tristan dance to the quick step where Bruno says that he loved their connection and how beautiful it was but cautions her on getting her frame right the whole way through. Carrie Ann agrees saying the dance was a little too casual for a quick step. Len says that while he adores her, he didn’t appreciate the dance tonight for those same reasons stated by Bruno and Carrie Ann.
Katherine Jenkins (Classical Singer) & Mark Ballas
Katherine and Mark dance to the Jive this week. Carrie Ann says it was so brilliant and she’s never seen such a quick jive before, she loved it. Len was concerned about Katherine being out of her element but she pulled it off and he liked it. Bruno says “the blond bombshell is unleashed!! Talk about sexy and I know, I know sexy when I see it and you’ve got it!”
Jaleel White (Actor/Screen Writer) & Kym Johnson
Jaleel and Kym’s dance this week is the Jive. Len said there were moments he enjoyed it but there was no crispness or sharpness about it, wants more punch. Bruno loved the concept of the diner feel but says next time to be sharper. Carrie Ann says it’s hard to keep up with last weeks expectations, also said to work more on his footing.
This week, Maria and Derek dance the quick step (even though she injured her ribs during practice, like she says “mind over matter, mind over ribs”). Bruno starts off with “kiss me hunny! That frame, where did it come from?!” He said it was nearly spotless and only missed one step, otherwise it was perfection and brilliant. Carrie Ann says that’s exactly what they’re looking for when they ask for a strong frame but got out of sync near the middle of the dance but notices a huge improvement from last week. Len says he noticed the missed step but wouldn’t have made a big deal about it. He says they had both speed and persistence and also says it was an improvement from last week.
Martina Navratilova (Retired Tennis Player) & Tony Dovolani
Martina and Tony are dancing the Jive which Carrie Ann says she loved the approach to the routine but says she missed a few steps throughout the dance. Len said the dance was too neat and careful, he wants her to come out and attack the dances. Bruno compared the dance to tennis saying “the ball went right into the nets”, he says it happens but wants her to come back harder next week.
Donald Driver (NFL Player; Green Bay Packers) & Peta Murgatroy
Donald and Peta dance the quick step that Len thought was up there among the best and apologized for under-marking his performance from last week. Bruno said the dance was refined and elegant and Carrie Ann also thought he moved through the dance with a smooth elegant charm.
Gavin DeGraw (Musician/Song-Writer) & Karina Smirnoff
Gavin and Karina dance the Jive this week which Bruno says he loved the Elvis touches to the dance but his kicks weren’t as good as htye should be. Carrie Ann feels that his posture was “funky” but she really enjoyed his animation and how he went past what he’s comfortable doing. Len said this dance was an improvement from last week and loved the energy that came from the dance.
William Levy (Actor) & Cheryl Burke
William and Cheryl danced the quick step this week where Carrie Ann said he turned up the sexy with this dance and says that he is the “Harry Connick Jr of the ball room. Len says he needs to clean up his foot work saying the dance was good but not great. Bruno says even when fully clothes, William has the ability to dazzle, saying the dance was superb.
