An NYPD sergeant was shot in the leg in Queens Wednesday night, police sources said.
A group of men was hanging out at 106-61 Union Hall St. in Jamaica when a shot was fired at an unmarked NYPD Anti-Crime van, one police source said.
The bullet hit the sergeant in the top of the leg, the source added. It was not immediately clear if he was seated inside the van or standing outside of it.
An FDNY official confirmed that a 911 call was made at 10:31 p.m. for a man shot at that address.
Cops at the scene were searching for a suspect who fled into the rear yard after the shooting, the sources said.
