( 4UMF NEWS ) Brooklyn Mom Shot Dead:
A 28-year-old mom walking home from the store was killed and at least three other people were wounded Thursday night in a shooting on a Brooklyn street, police sources said.
The dead woman was identified as Fatima Gordon by relatives.
“My niece is a wonderful girl,” said the woman’s devastated aunt. “Please not my niece. God, take me. She was just coming from the store. Her birthday is Saturday. She’s a wonderful mother – why her?”
Witnesses described a scene of chaos.
“There were six or seven shots,” said Kevin Fraser, 25, an office manager. “A woman was lying on the ground. She wasn’t moving. Another woman was tending to her and screaming.”
“A man walked out of the building holding his abdomen and climbed into an ambulance.”
Gordon was rushed to Kings County Hospital but could not be saved, police said.
“I keep trying to believe it’s not true,” said Kira Miller, who said she was Gordon’s best friend.
“She really loved her boy. Everywhere she went, he went,” said Miller. “Why her?”
Three other wounded people were being treated at Kings County Hospital: a 13-year-old boy with a graze wound to the back, a 29-year-old man shot in the abdomen and a 26-year-old man shot in the right forearm and the buttocks.
