( 4UMF NEWS ) Bride Steals $5K Wedding Dress:
Cops in New Jersey are on the hunt for a brazen bridezilla who used a group of friends and a little girl to distract store owners while she swiped a $5,000 wedding dress from a boutique.
“The one she stole is my favorite,” Chamroen Seng, who owns the Seng Couture shop in Fanwood with her husband, Sanh Truong, fumed to the Daily News.
Security cameras outside the shop caught the 30-something brunette fleeing with the dress in a cellophane garment bag, trailed by her pint-sized partner in crime.
Seng and Truong didn’t realize the dress was gone until two days later, Seng said.
The husband and wife who own the store said the group had a little girl with them, who kept asking for pizza and soda. The owners think the girl was trying to distract them. Seng said the group deliberately kept her in a back area of the store, while the tyke pestered her husband for pizza and soda.
“We tell them, ‘We don’t have pizza. If you want pizza, you have to go out,’” Seng said. “They wanted water, they wanted drinks, they distracted us.”
As the women kept the couple busy and blocked their view, one of them snatched a YSA Makino gown off a hook near the door and snuck out, Seng said.
The others didn’t buy anything and left soon after.
“I feel so bad. I loved that dress,” Seng said, adding that the gown was among the most expensive they sell.
Hey, times are tough…
