( 4UMF NEWS ) Body Found In Harbor:
The body of a man was recovered from the water at Montrose Harbor on the city’s North Side tonight, police said.
The man’s body was found at 8:19 p.m. by Chicago Police Marine Unit divers, said police.
Police said a pair of pants found near the water spurred the search. Officials tonight would not speculate on the identity of the victim. However, family members told WGN-TV tonight they suspect the victim is 35-year-old Talmadge Channell, who was last seen March 2.
Police had issued a missing person’s alert recently for Channell, who was missing from Montrose Avenue and Malden Street. The man had last made contact with his family on March 2, according to the alert.
Police said they are awaiting autopsy results from the Cook County medical examiner’s office and family identification before they can determine if the deceased person found was the man who had been missing.
