Evacuations are underway at 2 World Financial Center after a suspicious package was found by building security.
Security was conducting a routine screening when they came across a package around 10:53 a.m.
Bomb squad is en route and workers were told to evacuate over the loud speaker inside the building.
The package which appeared to contain a hand grenade was identified during a routine screening.
The grenade had no apparent ability to detonate on its own.
One eyewitness said there were thousands of people who evacuated the building.
